Initiatives by HANDS
HANDS
is distributing food baskets in a number of cities
across Pakistan. Their field offices are in process of
selection of Extremely Vulnerable Individual- EVIs in
close coordination of district administration and DDMAs.
HANDS has a target of 25,000 households to be covered
under the relief activity.
Additionally, initiated a three months program to
support the Government of Sindh to fill the
infrastructure, material and human resource gaps in the
21 designated isolation wards and health care facilities
across the Sindh province.
2,000
hygiene kits and masks are handed over to the PDMAs in
Sindh and Balochistan under DFID funded Multiyear
Humanitarian Program- MYHP. These items will be utilised
by the authorities at isolation centres established by
the Government of Sindh and Balochsitan.
Isolation wards have been established at SGH Murad Memon
Goth and Ibrahim Hydri and ambulance services for
shifting suspected cases along with DHO Malir Teams in
District Malir.

Wateraid’s
Response to Covid – 19 Crisis
It has launched a
countrywide awareness campaign in regional and local
languages
58 handwashing
facilities in hospitals, quarantine centres and public
places in Islamabad (PIMS), Lahore, Multan, Muzaffargarh,
Mardan and Quetta
30,000 soaps, 5,000
examination gloves, 5,000 surgical masks, 100 KN95
masks, 1,000 MHM kits, 900 PPEs (gown, cap and shoe
cover) and 100 goggles had handed over to PDMAs/
district governments in Islamabad, Punjab, KPK, Sindh
and Balochistan.
COVID-19
Response Appeal by The Citizens Foundation
(TCF) has launched a Rs.
500 Million to battle the devastating impact of the
Coronavirus crisis in Pakistan. This shall help TCF in
providing relief to families facing extreme economic
hardship and support frontline healthcare professionals
and volunteers with the equipment, testing kits and
protective gear they urgently need.
Ghurki
Trust Teaching Hospital takes care of its communities
Ghurki Trust Teaching
Hospital (GTTH) sets up isolation rooms/unit and high
dependency unit (HDU) for seriously ill patients
equipped with ventilators, cardiac monitors etc.
Free of cost food for
the patients at the hospital.
An internal
communication policy maintaining all standards is set
for patients and their attendant’s proper communication.
A filtration desk to
separate infected and non-infected cases and handles
them as per the guidelines. All staff, doctors are
provided proper personal protective equipment
Campaign to create
awareness among the surrounding communities.
Offering telemedicine
services via Skype to answer all queries of patients who
are unable to visit hospitals.
Performed more than 300
plus surgeries in this lockdown.

RAHMA Islamic Relief
RAHMA
has distributed hand washing Soaps among people visiting
hospitals in Punjab and Azad Kashmir. The organization
is in the process of identifying 1500 families who are
among street vendors and daily wagers affected by
lock-down situation in the country. The identified
families will be provided monthly food packages at their
door step.
