As the sole
certification agency
for nonprofits in
Pakistan, approved
by the Federal Board
of Revenue (FBR),
PCP is working
diligently to
provide
accreditation to
NPOs, thereby
enhancing their
credibility and
boosting donor
confidence. In this
quarter alone (July
to September 2024),
PCP has granted
certification
approval to 105
organizations. The

The
Executive Director of PCP held a meeting
with the Chief Commissioner of the Tax
Office in Gujranwala. Given PCP's
recognition as a Certification Agency by
the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), its
management consistently interacts with
regional tax offices to tackle
tax-related concerns affecting NPOs.
This proactive engagement seeks to
elevate the significance of the PCP
certification process. |

Meeting with the

Social Welfare
Department Lahore |
The
Executive Director
of PCP visited the
Director General of
the Social Welfare
Department in
Lahore. The purpose
of the meeting was
to explore potential
collaboration to
support and enhance
grassroots
nonprofits working
to uplift
marginalized
communities.
Both parties agreed
to continue working
together to promote
excellence in the
social development
sector of the
country.

Expanding knowledge of philanthropy

Launch of Corporate Philanthropy
Survey (CPS) 2023
|
The
Corporate Philanthropy Survey (CPS) 2023
marks the nineteenth report in a series
prepared by the Centre since the year
2005. The launch event for CPS 2023
report will be held on 19th November
2024 at Serena Hotel, Islamabad. This
report aims to highlight the trends and
patterns of giving among Public Listed (PLCs),
Public Unlisted (PUCs) and Private
Limited Companies (PvLCs) in Pakistan's
business sector.
The top 25 companies in each category,
based on their donations, will be given
awards for their generous contribution
for social good. The purpose of the
Award event is to recognize the giving
companies and motivate non-giving
companies to participate in charitable
efforts. |

vital role in connecting grassroots
communities and informal
organizations with formal
development entities and the state.

Empowering GBC-based Micro
Enterprises to Excel in Business
Operations
|
As part of an EU-funded project in
collaboration with AKRSP and PSQCA, PCP
organized a two-day training program
across three target locations-Skardu,
Gilgit, and Chitral. The program aimed
to strengthen the competencies
(knowledge, skills, and attitudes) of
small, medium, and micro enterprises, as
well as farmer groups, in obtaining and
maintaining relevant product standards
and certifications.
Approximately 140 participants (99
males and 41 females) from various
farmer groups and micro-enterprises
took part in the training across all
locations. |

A Course on Introduction to
Philanthropy and Community Service
|
The academic course titled "Introduction
to Philanthropy and Community Services"
offered by PCP has begun for the Fall
2024 semester at SZABIST University,
Islamabad. The students will get an
opportunity to explore the concepts and
practices of philanthropy and community
service. In addition to classroom
instruction, the course includes field
visits to nonprofit organizations,
offering students valuable firsthand
experience and a broader understanding
of philanthropy and community
engagement.

Regulatory Landscape
for NPOs
|
Over the course of a
two-day training
program focused on
Federal and
Provincial
Regulatory Landscape
for Nonprofits,
participants engaged
in interactive
discussions covering
key aspects of
regulatory
compliance. The
training is designed
to tackle challenges
that NPOs encounter
in taxation
frameworks and
regulatory
compliance. Its
objective is to
equip participants
with the necessary
skills and knowledge
to navigate these
areas independently,
without requiring
external assistance.

On
International
Charity Day,
Executive Director
PCP was featured on
HUM News morning
show Subah Say Agay
where she emphasized
Pakistan's
leadership in
charitable giving
for social causes.
She also explained
how Pakistanis can
enhance the impact
of their donations
by using PCP's
directory of
certified
nonprofits, which
operate across
education, health,
WASH, human rights,
food security, and
disaster response
throughout the
country
