NPO certification panels

2023 has been a productive year for PCP, the body approved by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) for the certification of non-profit entities in Pakistan, as we presented a total of 439 NPOs’ evaluation reports to the panel out of which 317 NPOs were certified. We hope to continue with the same zeal in the next year.

From October to December 2023, PCP has granted certification approval to as many as 84 organizations.

Beyond tax benefits, PCP Certification Stamp helps to bridge the information and credibility gap between grant-makers and grant recipients, builds NPOs' capacity to meet international standards of Governance, Transparency & Accountability and last but not the least, build a credible pool of nonprofits that are reliable and effective development partners.


Meeting with Secretary Social Welfare & Bait-ul-Maal, Government of the Punjab


The Executive Director PCP had a meeting with the Secretary Social Welfare & Bait-ul-Maal, Government of the Punjab. Since PCP is a designated Certification Agency by the FBR, its management ensures to touch base with key stakeholders and players in the philanthropy sector of the country to further add value to its NPO certification program.

Knowledge development to support your work in the charitable sector

Progress on the research study on "Giving Pakistan"

This PCP research team has been actively involved in consolidating the data analysis and developing the content of different topics on philanthropy in Pakistan. Engaging discussions were held with Dr. Adil Najam, the Lead Author and other experts to refine the structure of the research study.


CSOs’ training on gender inclusivity

In collaboration with the Aga Khan Foundation Pakistan (AKF-P), PCP organized and conducted a transformative five-day training session in Hunza and Chilas as part of the project on “Enhancing Capacity of Local Organizations for Gender Inclusive Programming in Gilgit-Baltistan”. The topics covered were gender-inclusive leadership, gender programming, budgeting, and peer-to-peer learning workshops. The trainings were completed with an active participation from 35 civil society organizations (CSOs), fostering an interactive learning outcomes to achieve the goal of gender equality and women empowerment in the region.

The positive feedback from participants underscores the success of this collaborative effort in empowering local organizations.


Corporate philanthropy survey 2023

The PCP Research Unit has been regularly informing and educating people regarding the importance of philanthropy through the publication of newspaper articles.

The Corporate Philanthropy Survey is a cornerstone of our annual activities. For FY 2022, the data of public unlisted companies (PUCs) and private listed companies (PvLCs) was collected through Securities Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP). Additionally, public listed companies (PLC) data was gathered online from the Stock Exchange database. The insights derived from this data will shape the CPS 2023 report, and awards to the top giving companies will be conferred based on its findings.


PCP and Pakistan Standards and Quality Control Authority (PSQCA)

A significant stride has been made in the "Building Resilience of Civil Society and Youth to COVID-19 in Gilgit-Baltistan and Chitral" project. PCP and Pakistan Standards and Quality Control Authority (PSQCA) have officially signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA). This collaboration will facilitate standards provision, manual preparation, training, and certification. Also, PCP has formally purchased the required quality standards that will become part of the microenterprises capacity building training expected to be executed in March/ April 2024


Guidebook on effective NPO board

PCP has developed a Guidebook on Effective Nonprofit Organization Board. An analysis of 142 Non-Profit Organizations (2019-2023) was conducted to identify the trends and patterns of their governance practices. This initiative seeks to enhance governance structures, operational effectiveness, and decision-making within the NPO sector, fostering more impactful and sustainable community initiatives

PCP at WINGS Forum 2023

PCP is represented by its Executive Director at the highly anticipated WINGS Forum 2023! This year's theme was about transforming philanthropic organizations to effectively tackle the interconnected global challenges and risks, promoting collaboration and knowledge sharing.


PCP at SDC 2023

PCP represented by its Executive Director, was delighted to have been part of the 26th Sustainable Development Conference (SDC)'s inaugural plenary held by Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI) in Islamabad. The theme 'Light at the End of the Year: Hope in Times of Despair' resonated deeply in discussions on sustainable development amid global challenges


Training on taxation and regulatory compliance for NPOs

PCP successfully concluded 03 batches held in Faisalabad, Multan and Lahore under its series of two days training on "Taxation and Regulatory Compliance for NPOs". This effort was fully endorsed by the participant nonprofits as a much needed initiative to address the challenges faced by them in tax compliance and understanding of the regulatory regime

We look forward to continuing with more of our training sessions on similar or any other relevant topic for nonprofits in the coming months.
