20 Years of Corporate Giving: PCP Unveils CPS 2024 Findings |

The Pakistan
Centre for Philanthropy (PCP) launched the 20th Corporate Philanthropy Survey
(CPS) 2024 on November 19, 2025. The event brought together key stakeholders
from the corporate and development sectors to highlight the pivotal role of
corporate philanthropy in driving Pakistan’s socioeconomic progress.
The CPS report revealed a remarkable 8% increase in corporate donations,
reaching PKR 25.44 billion in 2023, reflecting growing commitment by companies
to social responsibility. Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, Federal Minister for
Finance & Revenue, was the Chief Guest and commended the corporate sector for
its dedication to supporting social causes. During the ceremony, awards were
presented to top-giving companies in recognition of their exceptional
contributions across education, health, disaster relief, and community
development initiatives. The event also provided a platform for networking,
sharing best practices, and inspiring greater corporate engagement in
philanthropy across the country. |

Strengthening Pakistan's Philanthropy Ecosystem: Opportunities and Challenges |
|
The Corporate Philanthropy Awards 2025
featured a thought-provoking panel discussion on "Philanthropy Ecosystem in
Pakistan: Opportunities and Challenges." Chaired by Mr. Badaruddin F.
Vellani, Vice Chairman of PCP’s Board, and moderated
by Ms. Mehnaz Akber Aziz, the session
brought
together distinguished leaders from the public and social sectors.
Panelists
including Mr. Ahmer Bilal Soofi, Mr. Asif Rasool, Dr. Faisal
Sultan, and Mr. Zia
Akhter Abbas shared valuable perspectives on governance frameworks, nonprofit
registration processes, and the persistent challenges faced by NPOs in accessing
tax rebates. The discussion underscored the urgent need to expand opportunities
for nonprofits by improving access to both domestic and international funding. |

As the sole
certification agency for nonprofits in Pakistan, approved by the Federal Board
of Revenue (FBR), PCP is working diligently to provide accreditation to NPOs,
thereby enhancing their credibility and boosting donor confidence. In this
quarter alone, PCP has granted certification approval to 114 organizations.
Beyond tax
benefits, PCP certification helps to bridge the information and credibility gap
between grant-makers and grant-recipients, builds NPOs' capacity to meet
international standards of Governance, Transparency & Accountability and last
but not the least, builds a credible pool of non-profits that are reliable and
effective development partners.

Pakistan Charity Insight
Report 2025: Opportunities, Resilience, and the Future of Giving |

The
Pakistan Charity Insight Report 2025 was conducted as part of the
Charities Aid Foundation’s (CAF) global World Giving Report series, alongside
research in 27 partner countries worldwide. In Pakistan, PCP led the data
collection through an online survey of 226 charities across the country, with
the findings subsequently shared with CAF for in-depth analysis. |

The report examines the opportunities and challenges facing Pakistan’s nonprofit
sector in the context of an increasingly volatile economic and political
environment, while highlighting the country’s deeply rooted cultural traditions
of giving. It reveals a growing demand for charitable services with
organisations demonstrating notable resilience and confidence in their ability

PCP Engages LTO Islamabad to
Strengthen the Nonprofit Tax Environment |
|
PCP
held a productive and engaging session with the Large Taxpayers Office (LTO)
Islamabad, a key field formation of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR). The
discussion highlighted PCP’s nonprofit certification programme and showcased the
impact and reach of PCP-certified organizations across Pakistan. The session
also addressed key challenges faced by nonprofits in obtaining NPO status and
securing tax exemptions. Through sustained advocacy and constructive dialogue
with tax authorities, PCP continues to work towards fostering a more enabling,
transparent, and supportive tax environment for the nonprofit sector. |

PCP at ICSW 2025: Advancing
Local Philanthropy through Global Dialogue |
|
PCP
is represented by its Executive Director at the panel discussion titled “Context
Is Everything: Fostering Local Philanthropy” during the International Civil
Society Week (ICSW) 2025. This global gathering is co-organised by CIVICUS:
World Alliance for Citizen Participation and brings together civil society
leaders and practitioners from across the world. The session is led by members
of the CAF International Network, including PCP, and focuses on how everyday
acts of kindness and generosity serve as the bedrock of philanthropy. Panelists
also explored practical strategies to strengthen local giving ecosystems and
emphasized the vital role of citizens as catalysts for sustainable social
change.

PCP and CAF UK Share World
Giving Report 2025 Insights at AVPN Conference |
|
In collaboration with CAF UK, PCP
presented key findings from the World Giving Report (WGR) 2025 at the AVPN
Conference in Hong Kong.
The
report highlights Pakistan’s strong performance across all indicators, with the
country ranking 17th globally for the proportion of individual income donated to
charitable causes. These findings underscore Pakistan’s deep-rooted culture of
compassion, community solidarity, and long-standing informal giving practices,
including Zakat and other forms of mutual support. PCP reaffirmed its commitment
to strengthening and promoting a culture of giving in Pakistan through
evidence-based research, strategic partnerships, and sustained collaboration
with civil society, government, and the private sector. |

PCP Conducts Nationwide
Evaluations to Strengthen PPAF Partner Organizations |
|
PCP carried out comprehensive evaluations
of PPAF partner organizations across Pakistan, covering Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,
Punjab, Balochistan, and
AJK. Evaluation teams conducted field visits to multiple locations to assess
institutional capacity, governance systems, program effectiveness, and resource
management practices. These assessments generated valuable insights to help
organizations optimize operations, improve efficiency, and strengthen program
delivery. By reinforcing transparency, accountability, and overall
organizational effectiveness, the evaluation process ensures that partner
organizations are better equipped to respond to community needs. Through this
continued support, PCP is enabling PPAF partners to strengthen their
institutional foundations, foster sustainable growth, and deliver enhanced
social impact across diverse communities |

Certification Team Through Strategic Leadership Training |

PCP
conducted a one-day training on Strategic Leadership & Governance for its NPO
Certification team at IRM Complex, Islamabad. The session was led by ICMA
experts, focusing on enhancing skills and knowledge in nonprofit evaluation and
governance. This training ensures PCP’s evaluators remain equipped to uphold
high standards in NPO certification. By investing in professional development,
PCP reinforces its commitment to promoting accountability and excellence in the
nonprofit sector. Continuous learning initiatives like this help PCP drive
impactful and transparent philanthropy across Pakistan. |

Campaign Inspires Youth on Philanthropy at SZABIST Islamabad |
|
Under
the Enhancing the Philanthropy Ecosystem in Pakistan project, funded by WINGS &
EU, PCP conducted an engaging session at SZABIST University, Islamabad Campus.
The event brought together over 80 students, fostering interactive discussions
on the pivotal role of philanthropy in building a better Pakistan. PCP’s
Executive Director shared insights on social responsibility, collective impact,
and the culture of giving, encouraging students to embrace active civic
engagement. These university-focused sessions aim to inspire youth participation
and nurture the next generation of changemakers. |
